…complete trust or confidence in someone or something.*

Faith in something or someone is a valuable character quality. Our faith in something is the motivation that keeps us going in hard times. It is the thing or person we come to when we celebrate life’s victories. Who or what is your faith in?

Maybe your faith is in your schooling or your ability. Maybe it is in your boyfriend or girlfriend. Perhaps it is in your life philosophy.  I do what I do because of my firm faith in God. God is the source, or object, of my faith.

The object of one’s faith is the key to eventual success, even victory. If my faith is misplaced – say I trust in a car that is always breaking down – then I will often be disappointed.

My faith is placed in God who made me and loves me. He is in control of life from beginning to end.  I can choose to live by faith in Him.  In the troubles of life, I look to God, and find His path through the hard times.  In joys, I look to God, and acknowledge that He has brought me to happy times. I celebrate life, knowing that all things are in God’s control. And this pleases God. I live at rest with Him.

“The just shall live by faith.” Hebrews 10:38**

“Without faith it is impossible to please God.” Hebrews 11:6**
