Certified Tutor of English

I am a native-speaker of American English who lives in the United States. I grew up in Ohio and lived in a number of countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East as an adult.  I have learned German and Arabic. Today I make my home in central Ohio, in a suburb of Columbus.

My ESL/EFL experience began in the 1980s teaching high school and college students, helping them prepare to perform well on their English tests. Through the 1990s I’ve had casual interaction with numerous internationals, providing opportunities for many to chat and receive some input into their language ability.  I returned to Ohio in 2003, where I’ve become a certified tutor of international children and stay-at-home women.

I understand that language acquisition is a process.  Once a person has learned the first few words of the language, they are on their way!  Whether the next step is talking about ordering food in a restaurant or launching a rocket into space, I’m available to help with the English.  My passion in my teaching is to applaud the acquired language, to build further understanding and to practice next steps. I look forward to helping you in your next steps.
